Oklahoma City small forward Jerami Grant has been ruled out for the Thunder’s Monday night game against the Portland Trailblazers after suffering a right ankle injury in Saturday night’s 117-112 win at Houston.
Grant remained in the game after sustaining the injury, ultimately recording 8 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocked shots, and 2 steals in 35 minutes of playing time. However, after reevaluation on Sunday it appears as if the organization would like to play it safe with the seventh-year player to allow proper time to heal.
On the season Grant is shooting 52% from the floor and averaging 13.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. His absence most likely will result in more minutes for Patrick Patterson in an effort to fill the void.
A former first round pick by the Houston Rockets, Patterson is averaging 14.2 minutes per game over the last ten games for the Thunder. On the season he’s averaging 4.1 points and 2.1 rebounds per contest.
