After being labeled as questionable due to right shoulder soreness early Wednesday afternoon, news broke shortly before 7 PM CT schedule tip-off that small forward Paul George will sit out tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks.
With George out, the load will fall on point guard Russell Westbrook, who is used to leading the way. Dennis Schröder, who will likely start in place of the injured George, will also need to elevate his game.
This game is important to the Thunder as a win will mean a clinched sixth-seed. The Bucks have already clinched the top spot in the East, so they are resting nearly half their roster, including MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Regardless of who is or is not playing, the Thunder needs to pick up a win tonight, not just to earn a better seed in the West but also to head into the postseason with some momentum.
