Apparently Texas isn’t taking the “Be careful what you say so that you don’t give any bulletin board material,” approach to Saturday’s Red River Rivalry game with Oklahoma. On the same day that offensive tackle Sam Cosmi called out Sooner defensive linemen Ronnie Perkins and Neville Gallimore, safety B.J. Foster practically dared Jalen Hurts to run at him.
“He’s not dumb,” Foster said of Hurts. “He’s gonna have to slide, or it’s not gonna be good for him.”
For the record, Foster is 6-1/205 and Hurts is 6-2/218 so it isn’t like the Texas safety towers over Oklahoma’s quarterback. Also for the record, the Longhorns currently rank 126th nationally (out of 130 teams) in pass defense, just behind Troy and Arkansas State and just ahead of Wyoming and New Mexico.
Perhaps Foster should worry more about CeeDee Lamb, Charleston Rambo, and Jadon Haselwood before he focuses on what Jalen Hurts does with his legs.
By the way, Hurts is averaging 99 rushing yards per game.
