With the early signing period just around the corner, numerous prospects around the nation are prepared to sign with various programs. However, each individual university is attempting to address certain needs at the same time. For the Oklahoma Sooners, the most glaring need remains the tackle position on the defensive side of the ball.
After hosting Joshua Ellison over the weekend, the coaching staff knew the University of Oklahoma would be the last stop of the lineman before announcing his commitment. Making quite the impression, Alex Grinch earned the verbal pledge from the former 4-star high school recruit. With the addition, the Sooners now have two incoming defensive tackles during this cycle.
There are several other glaring needs for the class including quarterback and depth at the corner position. However, I believe it goes without saying that Ellison has the potential to contribute immediately. That single fact possibly makes the defender the most important commitment of December.
Welcome to Sooner Nation!
