Winter Park, Florida safety Dakota Mitchell wants to re-evaluate things. That’s why the 3-star prospect, who holds 28 scholarship offers, decided to withdraw his commitment to LSU last Friday and open his recruiting back up.
“First off I want to thank the whole LSU coaching staff for showing me so much love, but I think it’s best for me to take time & really think about where I would want my next home for the next 3-4 years to be,” Mitchell wrote on Twitter last Friday. “So with that being said, I will be announcing that I will be de committing from the Louisiana State University & opening back my recruitment up 100%.”
Mitchell committed to the Tigers on March 19th with Alabama, Florida and Georgia coming in as finalists as well. Now that he’s opened his recruiting back up, Oklahoma is in play.
Oklahoma offered the 6-0/184 prospect in February and the Sooners seem to have made progress. 247Sports ranks Dakota Mitchell as a 3-star prospect. They have him listed as the #25 safety in the nation and the #44 overall player from the state of Florida.
