Oklahoma needed just five innings to dispatch of Louisiana Monroe and improve to 15-0 on the season. It was Oklahoma’s third win during the Courtyard Marriott Tournament and second by way of a shutout.

Shannon Saile, Macy McAdoo, and Brook Vestal worked together from the circle to complete the shutout. Saile improved her season record to 4-0 after pitching 3.1 innings. She allowed just one hit and struck out four batters before Patty Gasso went to the bullpen with one away in the fourth. McAdoo and Vestal didn’t allow a hit in relief.

From the plate the Sooners were just as powerful as they’ve ever been, racking up nine runs off eight hits. After taking a scoreless game into the bottom of the third, Oklahoma erupted for seven runs after sending eleven batters into the box.

Jocelyn Alo and Kenzie Hansen each homered in the fourth to put the run rule in play for the fifth inning. Alo’s home run was her 12th of the season and 66th of her career. She also extended her hitting streak to 29 consecutive games.

The Sooners will face #18 Missouri one more time in the tournament on Sunday before closing out with Sam Houston. The Missouri game is set for a 12:30 (CT) start.
