Sooners Move To 30-0 With Run-Rule Of Louisiana Tech

Nicole May allowed just one hit and struck out seven to collect her tenth win of the season as the Sooners improved to 30-0 on the season with a 10-0 run-rule win over Louisiana Tech. May only threw 3.1 innings before giving way to Olivia Rains and Brooke Vestal. In all, Oklahoma hurlers fanned nine Louisiana Tech batters on the way to their 22nd run-rule victory.

From the plate Senior Jana Johns hit her sixth home run of the season in the fifth inning on a three-run shot down the right field line. Kinzie Hansen was the only Sooner hitter to record multiple hits in the game as she went 2-for-3 from the plate with a run scored and two RBI.

In addition to the nine hits, Oklahoma batters also drew six walks against Louisiana Tech. OU plated six runs in the third to break a scoreless tie and then pushed the run-rule into effect with four more runs in the top of the fifth.

The Sooners return to Norman next weekend to host the 7th ranked Texas Longhorns as they return to Big 12 play.
