Things escalated quickly for Oklahoma in Ruston, Louisiana on Saturday. After playing Mississippi State to a draw through two innings the Sooners erupted for a combined nine runs through the fourth and fifth innings to collect another run-rule/shut out victory.
Eight of the nine runs came in the bottom of the third with the help of a Tiare Jennings home run to left center field that also scored Jana Johns and Taylon Snow. The ninth and final run came in the bottom of the fourth when Grace Lyons scored Nicole Mendes with a double to right center.
From the circle “G” Juarez picked up her 11th win of the season by tossing three innings in which she allowed just one hit and struck out four Mississippi State batters. Shannon Saile threw the final two innings without allowing a runner on base and striking out two.
The Sooners improved to 29-0 on the season and will conclude their trip down south by playing Louisiana Tech this afternoon.
