Sooners Add Fourth 5-Star Commitment To 2023 Recruiting Class

The already strong relationship between the University of Oklahoma and Los Alamitos Hight School (California) seems to be strengthening even more. On Friday the Sooners picked up their third commitment from Los Alamitos and all three are rated as 5-star recruits by 247Sports.

Joining quarterback Malachi Nelson and two-way athlete Makai Lemon in Norman will be receiver DeAndre Moore Junior who is the third player from the program to commit to Oklahoma. Rated by 247Sports as the #2 receiver in the 2023 recruiting class, Moore (5-11/140) picked the Sooners over 21 scholarship offers that also included a Alabama, USC, Oregon, and Florida State in his Final Five.

A recent transfer to Los Alamitos, from Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas, Moore didn’t get to play as a sophomore in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. A two-way player, at receiver and safety, Moore seems to have his future set at the receiver position on the next level. Despite only being 5-11 he’s athletic enough to get to the ball in any situation, including jump balls.

Fort Lauderdale (American Heritage High School) receiver Brandon Inniss is also a 5-star prospect, giving the Sooners a total of four 5-star commitments for 2023.
