Why the Thunder Will Cover (+5.5)
OKC and LA are tied in the Western Conference standings right now, along with the Mavericks and the Pelicans. Because of tiebreakers, however, the Lakers are in 9th place while the Thunder is in 11th. With just 9 games left in the season, literally every game is going to change up who is in a playoff spot and who isn’t. While both teams really need to win, the Thunder REALLY needs to win this one. OKC has not been in a “must-win” situation for years, but this meeting probably qualifies. With that in mind, I’m taking OKC to at least cover if not outright win the game as well.
Why the Game Will Hit the Over (232.5)
OKC hasn’t been able to score much the last couple of games, but that’s because the Clippers are really good defensively. The Lakers are not that way at all, however, and we should see a lot more points scored as a result. Because I think this will be a close one to the end, I see the point total going over.
