Series History
The Thunder went 2-1 against the New Orleans Pelicans in the regular season series (0-1 at home, 2-0 on the road).
The Thunder are 3-0 in the playoffs against the New Orleans Pelicans (2-0 at home, 1-0 on the road).
Why the Thunder Will Cover (-4.5)
Ever since the closeness of Game 1, the Thunder have really found their stride and managed to exploit the Pelicans in a lot of ways. The most obvious difference is 3-point shooting: OKC has hit shots, while New Orleans has not. If I had to guess, I would say that the Thunder will shoot slightly worse than the last couple of games while the Pelicans will see an uptick. Still, OKC has managed to force the Pelicans into a lot of tough shots and turnovers, and that’s not something that will just flip out of nowhere. The Thunder have a good shot at closing out the series, and I think they take advantage of that and head home with the sweep.
Why the Game Will Hit the Over (205.5)
The Pelicans have shot about as poorly as a team can, and the Thunder deserve a ton of credit for their defense. Still, I think New Orleans knocks down a few more shots considering this is an elimination game, and while OKC might not shoot at an historic rate tonight, the offense is in a flow where the ball is flying around and just about anybody is capable of putting points on the board. This very well may be another low-scoring night, but I still think the point total is going to go over, especially if anybody outside of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams are getting buckets.
