Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #4 Preview: San Antonio Spurs

The Oklahoma City Thunder is off to their hottest start since 2016 with 3 straight wins to open up the season, and they will look to extend their streak to 4 on Wednesday night as they host Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs are just 1-2 to open up the year.

The Thunder’s defense has been the driving force behind the team’s success thus far, but the offense managed to find their flow on Sunday in the home opener against the Atlanta Hawks. After leading the league in 3-point shooting last season, OKC struggled in the first couple games before finding their shot on Sunday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to look like an MVP candidate, and Chet Holmgren is off to a great start in his sophomore campaign.

Meanwhile, San Antonio has struggled to score through three games, but with Chris Paul at the helm, they hope to benefit from his experience and maturity in leading a team. The Spurs are one of the top rebounding teams in the league, just ahead of OKC, who has seen vast improvement from last season when they ranked in the bottom 5.

OKC is a heavy favorite tonight as they take on the Spurs, and if they continue to play team defense at the level that they did over the last week, they are going to be a difficult matchup for just about everyone in the league.
