2024 Big 12 Football Power Rankings | Week 12

BYU survived its tilt with Utah with a miraculous fourth quarter to remain the unanimous #1 team in this week’s power rankings. Behind them, it’s pretty much chaos right now in the Big 12. We don’t collectively agree on any ranking from #2 all the way down to #16. The last couple weeks of the season are setting us up for a fantastic finish in terms of who will appear in Arlington for the conference championship game. There are at least six teams fighting for the two spots open in the championship game, and where each of those teams belongs in the hierarchy is definitely open for debate.

Make sure to check out our individual rankings below.

Caleb

1.  BYU | BYU was able to escape Utah to stay undefeated.

Craig

1. BYU | It took a bit of controversy and a field goal at the end, but BYU remains undefeated. 12-0 is very possible as their remaining schedule is fairly easy.

2. Colorado | Colorado didn’t look ready for the Big 12 at the start of the season. As much as I hate to admit it, they’ve turned things around and now look like a serious threat in the Big 12.

3. Arizona State | Arizona State has found themselves climbing the rankings. However, they’ve had a pretty easy schedule. These next few weeks will tell us if this team is legit or not.

4. Kansas State

5. Iowa State

6. West Virginia

7. Texas Tech

8. Baylor

9. TCU

10. Cincinnati

11. UCF

12. Houston

13. Kansas

14. Arizona

15. Utah | Utah was my favorite to win the Big 12. To say this season has been a let down would be an understatement.

16. Oklahoma State | Things in Stillwater are changing as we know it. A 3-9 finish is likely for this squad.

Matt

1. BYU | The Cougar offense only managed two field goals before coming alive in the fourth quarter against Utah. They’ll need to figure that out before they can be taken seriously as a challenge in the playoffs.

2. Arizona State | The Sun Devils are starting to receive votes in the AP poll and should be taken seriously as a contender.

3. West Virginia | Mountaineer special teams led to 14 points against Cincinnati on Saturday.

4. Iowa State

5. Colorado

6. Baylor

7. Texas Tech

8. TCU

9. Kansas State

10. Utah

11.  Houston

12. Kansas

13.  Cincinnati

14. UCF

15. Oklahoma State | Offensive inconsistencies continue to plague the Pokes.

16. Arizona | Idle

Zack

1. BYU | Utah isn’t good, but they gave BYU a scare. A win is a win, though, so the Cougars stay at the top.

2. Colorado | The Buffaloes trailed Texas Tech at halftime, but they had a strong second half, and ended up winning convincingly.

3. Kansas State | The Wildcats still have a shot at making the Big 12 Championship, but they’re going to need some help via a Colorado loss.

4. Arizona State

5. Texas Tech

6. West Virginia

7. TCU

8. Iowa State

9. Baylor

10. Cincinnati

11. UCF

12. Kansas

13. Houston

14. Utah

15. Arizona | The Wildcats didn’t play, but they drop because Kansas actually won a game.

16. Oklahoma State | The Cowboys are bad, and it has more to do with coaching than anything.
