Series History

OKC is 2-0 against Memphis so far this season (1-0 at home, 1-0 on the road).

Why the Thunder Will Cover (-5.5)

Both teams are missing key players, which could drastically affect how this game goes. OKC missing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander obviously impacts what happens on the offensive end. Chet Holmgren being out leaves just one true big for the Thunder in Branden Carlson, since Isaiah Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams have been out for a while with injuries. The Grizzlies are probably used to Ja Morant missing time, but they may be able to use their size to their advantage. I think OKC’s speed will allow the Thunder to play at a pace that they prefer, and what they lack in rebounding, they should be able to make up for in backcourt and perimeter defense, so I’m taking OKC to cover.

Why the Game Will NOT Hit the Over (229.5)

With both teams missing key offensive pieces, I don’t think this one is going to go over the point total. OKC is going to rely a lot on scoring quickly, which could mean more possessions, but Memphis will likely try to slow the game down. Regardless, I don’t think there’s enough scoring potential headed into this one to account for this many points.
