OKC Thunder | The 10 Home Games I Can’t Wait to Attend

Now, as the Thunder begins their 14th season, I am finally a season-ticket holder. The Thunder hasn’t had fans in the building since March of 2019, and I for one could not be more excited. Yes, it’s almost guaranteed to be another tank season, and I’m more likely to be in the building for a loss than a win, but I’m still pumped. The NBA announced the full schedule for the 2021-22 season Friday afternoon, so without further ado, here are the 10 games that I’m looking forward to attending the most (in chronological order):

Thunder Against The Spread | Memphis Has A Clear Advantage Tonight

Oklahoma City is back at home where they’re only covering the spread 45% of the time this season. As a home underdog that number decreases to 42% and when facing teams that have won 45-55% of its games the Thunder are only covering the spread 41% of the time.

OKC Thunder | Game Preview #44: Grizzlies

The Oklahoma City Thunder picked up a win in Detroit against the Pistons on Monday behind Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s 31 points, but tonight, the Thunder will be without their star point guard as they host the Memphis Grizzlies at Chesapeake Energy Arena. SGA is dealing with plantar fascitis in his right foot, so he should be considered game-to-game at this point.

The Thunder Lowdown | Game #39: 4th Quarter Comeback Gives Short-Handed Thunder Victory

The Oklahoma City Thunder were absolutely embarrassed at home Saturday afternoon as the New York Knicks took them to the cleaners. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Darius Bazley both sat with minor injuries, but losing by 22 points to a .500 team at home is rarely acceptable. Sunday afternoon’s home tilt against the Memphis Grizzlies was similar in some ways, but very different in the outcome.

OKC Thunder | Game #39 Preview: Grizzlies

The Oklahoma City Thunder looked solid against a short-handed Dallas Mavericks team on Thursday, but they were actually the short-handed team yesterday with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander sitting out, among others. Today, the Thunder hosts the Memphis Grizzlies, and it will be even worse for OKC as Luguentz Dort, Darius Bazley, Al Horford, and Theo Maledon will all be missing from the starting lineup for various reasons.

Thunder Against The Spread | It’ll Be Tough To Cover vs. Memphis

I’ve got to be honest here. I really don’t like the position that OKC is in right now, especially with the possibility of SGA not being available. Memphis is strong on the road where they cover the spread 65% of the time and Oklahoma City is far from fantastic at home with just a 42% cover rate against the spread. Even more specifically the Grizzlies are 3-1 as a road favorite and the Thunder are 7-11 as a home underdog.

The Thunder Lowdown | Game #28: Tired Thunder Falter Late Against Grizzlies

The Oklahoma City Thunder made it into Memphis just in time for tip-off—an hour and a half to be exact—, and despite the Grizzlies also playing in the second game of a back-to-back, they had the advantage of being at home. Perhaps that was all the advantage they needed as they dropped the Thunder 122-113.

Thunder Against The Spread | Road Warrior Mentality Will Help OKC Cover At +7

A lackluster performance at home on Tuesday night shouldn’t chase you off from the Thunder as underdogs. In fact, it goes right along with the season trend that is is a much better team against the spread on the road than they are at home. Meanwhile Memphis isn’t a great home team against the spread. The Grizzlies are just 4-7-1 at home against the spread and only 1-4 as a home favorite. That plays strongly in to Oklahoma City’s hands as a team that is 11-3 this season as a road underdog.

OKC Thunder | Game #28 Preview: Grizzlies

Tonight, the Thunder is on the road as they take on the Memphis Grizzlies, who were utterly embarrassed last night in a 144-113 loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. Like the Thunder, the Grizzlies have been dealing with their own litany of injuries.

OKC Thunder | Bubble Game #5 Preview: Washington Wizards

The Oklahoma City Thunder (42-26) got off to a hot start in Friday’s matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies (33-37) before going cold in the second quarter. Despite grabbing an 18-point lead in the first quarter, the Thunder allowed the Grizzlies to comeback and win handily 121-92.
