OKC Thunder | Game #82 Preview: Memphis Grizzlies

The Oklahoma City Thunder has clinched the final play-in spot and will play on Wednesday night against an opponent to be determined after all the games are played today and the final seedings are settled. Before that can happen, however, the Thunder must wrap up the regular season with an Easter Sunday matinee at home against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC has a Tough Cover Against Memphis

The Thunder really should have won last night against Minnesota, but the shots weren’t really falling, and they couldn’t finish quite as strong as they wanted after a terrible beginning to the game. OKC will have to get off to a much better start against the Grizzlies, but if they can manage that, I think covering the spread is definitely in play.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #30: Memphis Grizzlies

The Grizzlies are the top team in the Western Conference at the moment, riding a 7-game win streak, which includes a 41-point beatdown of the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night. The Thunder is going to have play a great game in order to keep this one close, but after dropping 10 of their last 14, perhaps OKC might have some extra desire to grab a win in front of the home crowd.

Thunder Against the Spread | Can OKC Continue Their Streak as Road Dogs?

I expected Monday’s matchup in Atlanta to be a tough cover, and sure enough, the Thunder went out and won the game. I’m expecting yet another tough one tonight, but I think OKC gets it done. The Grizzlies should still get the win, but the Thunder will keep it close—or at least find a way to make it close at the end.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #25 Preview: Memphis Grizzlies

The Thunder continues their road trip Wednesday night as they take on Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies. The Grizzlies are on a 3-game win streak of their own, and they have won 5 of their last 6. Memphis is a bit banged up, and they’re definitely missing Desmond Bane, who has been out with a sprained right big toe, but when these two teams met in OKC just a couple of weeks ago, the Grizzlies did just fine, defeating the Thunder 121-110. Tonight’s matchup should be a good one featuring two of the best young guards in the league in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Ja Morant.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Will Keep Covering as a Road Dog in Memphis

Ja Morant owns the better head-to-head record with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, but Shai has been the better player in their matchups over the last few years. While that is the matchup most people are excited for, there’s more to this story that makes me think OKC can not only cover the spread but perhaps win the game.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander tied his career-high point total with 42 points after hitting a buzzer-beater to defeat the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, and now the Thunder is ready to wrap up their 4-game road trip in Memphis when they take on Ja Morant the Grizzlies.

Thunder Against the Spread | Give OKC Another Chance to Cover

The Thunder has not done a great job at covering the spread lately, and that’s largely due to the lengthy injury report. It hasn’t gotten any better, but OKC is due for a good game, and after three days of rest, I have a tiny ounce of confidence that they can keep this one closer than the 13-point spread.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #29 Preview: Memphis Grizzlies

Less than 3 weeks after the Oklahoma City Thunder’s record setting 73-point loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, the Thunder returns to the scene of the crime for a rematch. In that initial matchup, OKC was without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Josh Giddey, Kenrich Williams, and Derrick Favors, so some of the blame can be placed on that, but still, there is no excuse for getting blown out like that.

OKC Thunder | The 10 Home Games I Can’t Wait to Attend

Now, as the Thunder begins their 14th season, I am finally a season-ticket holder. The Thunder hasn’t had fans in the building since March of 2019, and I for one could not be more excited. Yes, it’s almost guaranteed to be another tank season, and I’m more likely to be in the building for a loss than a win, but I’m still pumped. The NBA announced the full schedule for the 2021-22 season Friday afternoon, so without further ado, here are the 10 games that I’m looking forward to attending the most (in chronological order):
