Why the Thunder Will Cover (-4.5)
After sitting out last night due to injury management, I expect Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Isaiah Hartenstein both to be available tonight. If that is the case, I like the Thunder’s odds to win this one by a reasonable margin. OKC has a better offense, a better defense, and better chemistry. I think the Thunder matches up really well with the Knicks, particularly because of OKC’s depth, and when it comes down to the final minutes, I think Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a better closer. I’m taking the Thunder to cover.
Why the Game Will Hit the Over (222.5)
This point total feels too low for two teams of this caliber. Sure, the defenses are good, but the offenses are solid as well, and this is a primetime game on national television at the “Mecca of Basketball.” It may not be by much, but I think the point total goes over this line.
