As poorly as OKC played at times to end the season, they kicked it into another gear on Wednesday against the Pelicans. Minnesota is favored for a reason…for several reasons, actually, but the Thunder is young and perhaps too naive to believe the fact that they really shouldn’t even be in this game, so I fully expect them to be able to keep this one close if not outright pull out a win.

The Oklahoma City Thunder continues to do the unthinkable as they now are just one win away from earning a spot in the NBA Playoffs. It wasn’t too long ago before the Thunder was in the early stages of their third straight season of tanking, but it didn’t take long for everyone to see just what this team was made of. Fast forward to present day, and OKC is fresh off a 123-118 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in their first play-in game.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is questionable to play in Minnesota, which is likely why the spread moved from the Wolves by 5 to the Wolves by 6.5 Still, Minnesota is missing Karl Anthony-Towns, and I think OKC’s backcourt is good enough to keep them in this game, whether SGA plays or not. I expect a close one.

The Thunder and T-wolves have met twice this season, once in each location, and both games going to Minnesota. Both of those meetings were close matchups, and this one will be interesting considering the injuries that both teams are dealing with. If Shai is able to go for OKC, the Thunder will have a better chance at victory, obviously, but with Karl Anthony-Towns out for the Wolves, OKC’s defensive strategy becomes a little easier, perhaps.
