As we countdown the days until Thunder basketball is back it is almost impossible not to get over excited. After a heartbreaking finish last season and a gut wrenching off-season, the only cure seems to be more basketball. It’s time to start putting your “Thunder” in the “Up” position because we are only 46 days away from tip-off.
Last season the Thunder beat the Boston Celtics 130-109 to pick up their 46th win of the season. The win came during game 68, putting their record at 46-22. This win would be one of the best all around team games of the season. The only player on the roster to not score was Nick Collison, who did not take a shot. The team shot 49% from the field, 41% from beyond the arc, and 80% from the free throw line. Russell Westbrook shot 50% with 24 points. Enes Kanter led the team in rebounds with 12.
It will be as important as ever for the Thunder to play well as a team this season. With less talent on offense, the team will rely on more than just one player to carry the load. When you look at wins like this one against the Celtics, it is certainly encouraging to see the potential of the entire roster.
