Clearly we’re still trying to figure some things out when it comes to ranking the Big 12…and I’m confident we’re not alone. Granted it was a limited slate of action last weekend but only two teams saw movement in this week’s poll. Iowa State moved up two spots during a bye week and TCU dropped two spots after losing at Oklahoma State. The Cowboys hold steady at the #4 spot but picked up four points from last week.

Here are our Week 11 rankings followed by some brief explanations from each of our writers.

Mark

1. Baylor | The Bears barely pulled out a win against the Mountaineers on Thursday night, but their defense looked very impressive with one of the scores having been given up on special teams and the other an 83 yard pass.

2. Oklahoma | The Sooners had a bye week to get refocused for Iowa State on Saturday night in Norman.

3. Kansas State | Kansas State dominated their instate rival, Kansas, 38-10. The only touchdown given up was in the final seconds of the game.

4. Oklahoma State

5. Texas

6. Iowa State

7. TCU

8. Texas Tech

9. West Virginia | The Mountaineers played tough against Baylor but came up short. I do think they played well enough to move back to 9 in my rankings.

10. Kansas | The Jayhawks had a tough weekend against Kansas State after the big win against Texas Tech. They have a bye week coming up and then the matchup of Les Miles and Mike Gundy will finally be here!

Rich

1. Baylor | Narrowly escaping the weekend with a win, the Bears remain undefeated. This simple fact keeps the program at the top of the Big 12.

2. Oklahoma | After an idle week, I see no reason to bump the Sooners down.

3. Kansas State | Securing a win in a rivalry game, the Wildcats could easily be headed for the Big 12 Championship game. Finding their footing, the program is playing its best football of the year.

4. Oklahoma State

5. Iowa State

6. Texas

7. TCU

8. West Virginia

9. Texas Tech | The Red Raider are the beneficiaries of a week off and some movement here at the bottom of the conference.

10. Kansas | Just when I was starting to believe in the Jayhawks, the team gets blown out in a rivalry pairing. It’s back to the bottom of the heap.

Craig

1. Baylor | The Bears barely escaped the weekend with a win. It was close, but Baylor remains the only undefeated Big 12 team.

2. Oklahoma | The Sooners will have a tough game at home after the bye week. We saw Iowa State win in Norman two years ago. This will be a great opportunity for Oklahoma to show they still belong at the top.

3. Kansas State | The Wildcats rolled over the Jayhawks this week. Kansas State is quietly keeping themselves in championship contention.

4. Iowa State

5. Oklahoma State

6. TCU

7. Texas

8. West Virginia

9. Kansas | They got destroyed this last week, but they still hold a win over the Red Raiders.

10. Texas Tech | Texas Tech has a chance to move up the rankings this week as they face West Virginia. Could be their way out of last place!

Zack

1. Oklahoma | The week off means nothing for the Sooners. They stay at the top.

2. Baylor | The Bears squeaked by the Mountaineers, so they stay undefeated. For now.

3. Oklahoma State | The Cowboys proved once again that they can hang with anyone in the conference in their win over TCU. The regular season finale against Oklahoma is shaping up to be quite the matchup.

4. Kansas State

5. TCU

6. Texas

7. Iowa State

8. Kansas

9. Texas Tech | They needed a week off after losing to Kansas. Good thing they play West Virginia this weekend.

10. West Virginia | Another loss, another week at the bottom.

Matt

1. Baylor | This late in the season a win is a win and I’m sure the Bears aren’t complaining at all about sneaking past West Virginia.

2. Oklahoma | Bye Week

3. Kansas State | The Wildcats are building momentum and have a huge trip to Austin, Texas looming.

4. Texas

5. Oklahoma State

6. Iowa State

7. TCU

8. Kansas

9. Texas Tech | Bye Week

10. West Virginia | The Mountaineers gave Baylor fits but the end result is always going to be what’s on the scoreboard.
