Oklahoma State didn’t make a clean sweep of the weekly Big 12 Conference awards but they came pretty dang close. Quarterback Spencer Sanders became the third Cowboy to be honored by the Big 12 on Monday when he was name Newcomer of the Week.
Sanders only needed to complete nine passes on the day, for 158 yards and two scores, to earn the award because he also ran for 88 yards to boost his total yards of offense to 246. He had five runs of ten yards are more and a third of his completions went for big chunks of 57, 47, and 22 yards.
Sanders joins running back Chuba Hubbard and safety Kolby Harvell-Peel in receiving conference honors on Monday.
