Heading into the 2019-2020 season, the Oklahoma City Thunder had ten straight seasons with an All-Star on the roster. Before this season began, it looked as if the streak would end there. However, Chris Paul is unexpectedly having one of the best seasons of his career. His performance on the court this season earned him an All-Star selection, and extended the Thunder’s streak to eleven straight years.
Despite the incredible season he is having, many people outside of OKC didn’t think CP3 was deserving of the spot on the All-Star roster. When his number was called on Sunday night, he made sure to let everyone know he was supposed to be there.
He recorded 23 points, which is a career high in his ten All-Star game appearances. Most impressively, he made 7 shots from beyond the arc.
Chris Paul also made sure everyone knows he still has hops. He threw down his first ever dunk in the All-Star game, and his first in any game since the 2015-2016 season. Oh, and to make it even better, Russell Westbrook threw him the lob.
CP3 was selected to team LeBron, who came out on top with a 157-155 victory. His appearance in the All-Star game was an overall success. He showed everyone he deserved to be there, he represented OKC, and he came out with a win.
