Series History
The Thunder is 1-0 against the Pistons so far this season (1-0 at home, 0-0 on the road).
Why the Thunder Will Cover (-12.5)
The Pistons have been playing much more competitive basketball lately, and even though it hasn’t equated to wins, it’s still something that should be mentioned. 12.5 points is a pretty big spread, especially for a road team, but the Thunder is simply one of the best teams in the league. Detroit lost to Washington yesterday afternoon by 14, and OKC is obviously significantly better than the Wizards, so I’m leaning towards the Thunder winning this one big, even if it is an afternoon tip-off.
Why the Game Will Hit the Over (239)
It’s a common thought process that basketball players don’t play as well early in the day. This is likely attributed to the fact that their schedule leans to them being most awake and prepared in the evening, when they’re typically tipping off. If you subscribe to this belief, you could expect OKC to come out flat, but I don’t see that happening. Also, Cade Cunningham and Monte Morris should be back for Detroit today, so I see some decent points being scored by the Pistons as well. Anyways, I’m taking the over on this point total, even if it is a little on the high side.
