It’s been a long week since the Oklahoma City Thunder last played basketball, but the NBA All-Star Break is completed, and now the Thunder is set to get back on the court at home against Western Conference foe the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers are just a half-game back of OKC in the Western Conference standings, and with the season series tied at 1-1, this final meeting between the two could have a big impact on the postseason.
Joining the Thunder tonight for the first time will be the newly acquired Gordon Hayward and Bismock Biyombo. Hayward is expected to play a key role off the bench as quality offensive guys, while Biyombo brings an element of rebounding down low that the Thunder has lacked for pretty much the entire season. Don’t expect too much out of them tonight in their debuts, however, as Hayward hasn’t played since December due to a calf strain, and Biyombi was released by the Memphis Grizzlies on January 10th, so he hasn’t played in a little over a month as well.
