Series History

The Thunder are 1-2 against the Sacramento Kings so far this season (1-0 at home, 0-2 on the road).

Why the Thunder Will Cover (-5.5)

Shai Gilgeous-Alexader has missed 6 of the last 7 games due to a quad contusion, but he makes his return tonight, and that should be enough to give Thunder fans hope for a win against the Kings. Sacramento is also without Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk, and Keegan Murray is also listed questionable, but he should play. The first two meetings between these two teams were close matchups in Sacramento, but the last time they met in OKC right before the All-Star Break, the Thunder handled the Kings pretty easily. Both teams are still fighting for prime postseason position, and while neither squad is at full strength, OKC is probably a lot closer to their regular rotation, and because it’s a home game for the Thunder, I think they can win and cover the spread.

Why the Game Will Hit the Over (227)

OKC and Sacramento both have high-scoring offenses, and the Kings aren’t exactly defensive stoppers. The Thunder have been one of the league’s top defending teams for a chunk of the season, but that’s really only the case when they’re at full strength. OKC is getting closer to full health, and so I think they’ll be able to get some stops tonight, but I still see the likes of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Domantas Sabonis, and De’Aaron Fox lighting up the scoreboard.
