The Oklahoma City Thunder continue their West Coast trip on Wednesday evening as they take on the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center in San Francisco. The Warriors are on a 2-game losing streak, and they could be without Steph Curry and Jonathan Kuminga, who are both game-time decisions.
The Thunder played a tight game in Sacramento against the Kings on Monday, at least until the end of the third quarter. With 5:09 left in the period, OKC led 79-78, but a scoring barrage by the Thunder put them up 97-84 headed into the fourth quarter. OKC only extended the lead to finish with a 130-109 victory.
After dropping their first meeting with the Warriors, OKC needs to win this one to maintain a chance at winning the season series. Despite missing Chet Holmgren and Alex Caruso, the Thunder has plenty of depth, thanks in part to the quick rise of Ajay Mitchell. OKC doesn’t need any particular role player to explode with a monster performance; they just need everyone to do what they’ve done for much of the season. What that boils down to is contribute when necessary, and just be solid otherwise.
