Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #65 Preview: Golden State Warriors

The Thunder wrapped up a 3-game road trip with a 103-100 victory over the Knicks in New York City on Wednesday night, and now they return home to Oklahoma City for a 4-game homestand. Tonight they host the Golden State Warriors, who have struggled in the absence of the injured Steph Curry. Still, the Warriors have some young talent that cannot be overlooked. Just two nights ago, they defeated the Houston Rockets 115-113 in overtime.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Kicks Off Homestand as Massive Favorite Over Warriors

OKC has had a tough time covering spreads, not just recently but all season long. However, the Thunder is 3-0 against the spread when playing the Warriors this season, as all three games have been dominant wins for OKC. I think tonight is going to be a similar situation, especially when you consider that the Thunder is the healthier team in a matchup for once. Golden State doesn’t have anyone who can slow down Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and the Thunder has enough depth at every position to keep the Warriors uncomfortable.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #12 Preview: Golden State Warriors

The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Golden State Warriors have plenty of history over the last decade, but they enter Tuesday night’s meeting in OKC under different circumstances. The Thunder defeated the Grizzlies in Memphis on Sunday night for their 10th win of the season, while the Warriors dominated a shorthanded Indiana Pacers squad to move to 6-5 so far.

Thunder Against the Spread | Take OKC to Cover at Home Against Warriors

The Warriors were supposed to be a legit contender in the West, but they have looked average so far. They are undefeated at home (5-0), but they have struggled on the road (1-5), with their only win coming against the Los Angeles Lakers in their first game of the season. I think OKC wins, and regardless of how close this one may be early, I see the Thunder pulling away before the end of the game, effectively covering the spread.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #18 Preview: Golden State Warriors

The Oklahoma City Thunder continues their West Coast trip on Wednesday evening as they take on the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center in San Francisco. The Warriors are on a 2-game losing streak, and they could be without Steph Curry and Jonathan Kuminga, who are both game-time decisions.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC is a Slight Favorite Against Warriors with Steph Curry Questionable to Play

Last time these two teams met, Chet Holmgren went down early in the game with the injury that will keep him out until at least February, and the Thunder never could rally. This time, OKC has Isaiah Hartenstein on the floor, and I think he’s going to make a major difference against a team like the Warriors. With Steph Curry and Jonathan Kuminga both questionable, I like OKC’s odds to cover the small spread and even up the season series with Golden State.

The Thunder Lowdown: A Weekly Deep Dive | Week 3

Week 3 was full of plenty of ups and downs for the Oklahoma City Thunder. After a historic 7-0 start that featured a 12-point or more margin of victory in each game, OKC finally dropped a 2-point decision to the Nuggets in Denver. They dominated Orlando and Houston at home, but they lost in two ways on Sunday night with Chet Holmgren going down with a bad injury before losing to Golden State 127-116. Still, there was plenty to take away from week of four games, so let’s dive in.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #10: Golden State Warriors

“There’s a certain seriousness it takes to win in this league. And there’s a certain fear you have to instill in teams in order to win. I just don’t know if they’re instilling that fear in teams with all the bromance and stuff after the game.” That’s what Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green had to say almost two weeks ago concerning the Oklahoma City Thunder and their group postgame interviews. Now, the Thunder hosts the Warriors in a battle of two of the top teams in the West.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Hosts Golden State in Western Conference Clash

I keep expecting OKC to be in closer games, but aside from the Denver game, they keep winning by double digits. Golden State is coming off an embarrassing blowout loss to Cleveland, so I expect they will be have a renewed energy. This one is going to be a fourth quarter battle.

Thunder Against the Spread | Take OKC to Cover on the Road Against the Warriors

The Warriors are missing Steph Curry to injury and Draymond Green to suspension. They’re a very different team without those two guys, and it’s not a very good one. Add to it that Golden State is on a 4-game losing streak all while OKC is playing some really good basketball, and the Thunder should be able to pick up a decent win on the road before facing the Warriors again on Saturday.
