Why the Thunder Will NOT Cover (-8.5)
The Miami Heat are 5-2 since returning from the All-Star Break. Over the last few years, they have played mediocre basketball in the regular season only to turn up in the playoffs. Regardless of record, one thing is certain about Miami, especially lately: they play teams close. I think OKC gets the win tonight, but it could be as close as a one possession game, so I’m taking the Heat to cover the spread late.
Why the Game Will NOT Hit the Over (224.5)
Miami’s identity has been defense for a while, and that’s especially true lately. They don’t score a lot of points, but they don’t really have to because they’re so good at slowing teams down and keeping opponents from scoring. OKC has arguably the best offense in the league, and they’re going to have moments of scoring, but I do think the Thunder will play some sound defense as well to gut out a tougher, lower-scoring win tonight.
