Series History

OKC leads Memphis 1-0 in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs (1-0 at home, 0-0 on the road). The Thunder went 4-0 against the Grizzlies in the regular season (2-0 at home, 2-0 on the road). OKC has defeated Memphis in 9 straight games, including 7 straight at the Paycom Center.

Why the Thunder Will Cover (-14.5)

OKC has had Memphis’ number for a while now, and after they manhandled the Grizzlies in Game 1, expect the Thunder to bring the same energy in Game 2. Ja Morant was probably right in his postgame media session when he said, “We’ll never play this bad again,” but they have a lot of work to do to stand a chance in this one. The Thunder proved that they want to keep their foot on the gas, regardless of the score, and that should be the expectation as well for Game 2.

Why the Game Will NOT Hit the Over (228.5)

OKC’s defense is the key to the Thunder making it to the NBA Finals, and they were as suffocating as they have been all season when they held the Grizzlies to just 80 points in Game 1. Memphis had one of the top-scoring offenses in the NBA in the regular season, so they will surely bounce back in some fashion, but I still don’t see this one going over the point total.
