Series History
OKC leads Memphis 2-0 in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs (2-0 at home, 0-0 on the road). The Thunder went 4-0 against the Grizzlies in the regular season (2-0 at home, 2-0 on the road). OKC has defeated Memphis in 10 straight games, including 3 in a row at FedExForum.
Why the Thunder Will Cover (-8.5)
Despite convincing wins in Games 1 and 2, the Thunder cannot afford to get complacent at this point. The Grizzlies are sure to improve even more after taking another tough loss in Oklahoma City, and being in Memphis will certainly help that. The Grizzlies were hardly better at home than on the road in the regular season, but the Playoffs are a new animal. The Thunder hasn’t shot the ball all that well through the first two games, but even if they don’t pop off in Game 3, expect the defense to be the key to another big win.
Why the Game Will NOT Hit the Over (227)
Speaking of defense, the Grizzlies have struggled to score against the Thunder, and even if Memphis hits a few extra shots compared to the first two games, I don’t seeing it making a big enough difference in the point total to go over. OKC is playing with a tenacity that isn’t going to disappear out of nowhere, and that’s going to make the difference, resulting in another night of a lower score.
