Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #11 Preview: Memphis Grizzlies

The Oklahoma City Thunder got back on track on Friday night as they handily defeated the Sacramento Kings 132-101. Isaiah Hartenstein had a career night with 33 points, 19 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks; and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added his 5th game of the season where he scored at least 30 points in under 30 minutes. Now, OKC is set to wrap up a 4-game road trip in Memphis with a Sunday meeting against the Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies are coming off a 118-104 win at home on Friday night against the Dallas Mavericks, but they have struggled to a 4-6 record after dealing with several injuries, particularly to their backcourt. Add to it that Ja Morant was suspended for behavior that was considered detrimental to the team after he responded to a media member in “a tone the franchise deemed was inappropriate.” Between depth struggles and issues with morale, Memphis could not be more different than OKC at this time.

Still, the Thunder is mortal, as was proven in Portland last Wednesday against the Blazers. OKC is likely at least a little worn out from this long road trip, and they cannot afford to let up against a team like the Grizzlies. After some heated matchups in the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs back in April, you can bet the Memphis crowd will have a little extra enthusiasm today.
