Why the Thunder Will Cover (-17.5)
The last time these two teams met was a 126-107 victory for the Thunder in Los Angeles, and Thursday night’s matchup may have a very similar result. OKC has a completely healthy backcourt, and though the Clippers are without James Harden and Derrick Jones Jr., Kawhi Leonard will play in this one after missing the first time around. Isaiah Hartenstein and Jaylin Williams are both sitting for the Thunder, and Ivica Zubac can be a tough matchup for any big man in the league, so Chet Holmgren will have quite the matchup. Still, I like OKC to rebound with a monster victory after dropping just their second loss of the season in the NBA Cup Semifinal on Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs.
Why the Game Will NOT Hit the Over (220.5)
The Clippers struggle to score, and without Harden, it will be even tougher. I expect OKC to come in with a renewed focus after the loss to the Spurs—and 4 days of rest to think about it—which means intense defense should be on the menu. I like the Thunder to hold LA to around 100 points.
