Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #58 Preview: Cleveland Cavaliers

The Oklahoma City Thunder came out of the break a bit sluggish on Friday night as they hosted the Brooklyn Nets, but they found some rhythm as the game wore on to pick up a 105-86 win. The competition picks up a bit on Sunday afternoon, however, as the Cleveland Cavaliers come to town for a noon tip-off.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #27 Preview: Los Angeles Clippers

It took OKC’s worst shooting night of the season for the Spurs to pull off the narrow victory, and it won’t soon be forgotten. The Thunder has their off games—just like any other team—but one thing they do well is bounce back in a big way. OKC lost consecutive games just twice all of last season, and considering how heavily favored they are in Thursday night’s matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers, it’s not likely to happen now.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Looks to Bounce Back As a Massive Home Favorite Against Clippers

The last time these two teams met was a 126-107 victory for the Thunder in Los Angeles, and Thursday night’s matchup may have a very similar result.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Favored on the Road Against Clippers

The Clippers are playing in the second game of a back-to-back, following a close loss to Miami last night. I think those extended minutes—plus the fact that Kawhi Leonard and Bradley Beal have both been ruled out—play a role in this one, giving the Thunder an advantage.

OKC Survives a Physical Game in Hard-Fought Road Win Against Clippers

Despite being a 1.5-point favorite on the road against the LA Clippers, the Oklahoma City Thunder entered the game a bit short-handed. With no Jalen Williams and no Chet Holmgren, OKC had plenty of adjustments to make against a Clippers squad that had won 8 straight at the Intuit Dome.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #33 Preview: LA Clippers

The Oklahoma City Thunder is the hottest team in the NBA right now with 12 straight wins—a tie for the franchise’s longest winning streak—and they kickoff 2025 tonight with an opportunity to extend their streak as they host the LA Clippers. The Clippers have won 5 of their last 7, but they’re coming off 122-86 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, so they’re not exactly playing their best basketball.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Nearly a Double-Digit Favorite at Home Against Clippers

OKC is the hottest team in the league right now with 12 straight wins, and the Clippers haven’t been playing too badly themselves. LA has won 5 of their last 7, but when they lose, they lose big. In their last 8 losses, they have lost by double digits 7 times with 5 of those taking place in their last 10 outings. The Thunder should win, and because of how each team has been playing—as well as LA’s trend to not just lose but lose big—I’m taking OKC to cover the spread.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #11 Preview: LA Clippers

The Oklahoma City Thunder could be without Chet Holmgren for a while after he took a hard fall early in the Thunder’s 127-116 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday night. With a lack of depth in the frontcourt, the Thunder will have to play plenty of small ball for the time being, and they get their first challenge on Monday night as they host the LA Clippers.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Heavily Favored Over Clippers Despite Missing Holmgren

No Chet Holmgren is certainly going to make this a more interesting game than the spread might show. Ivica Zubac has an opportunity to punish the Thunder in a number of ways—particularly when it comes to rebounding—but I believe in OKC’s ability to play fast enough to force him off the court, so I’m taking the Thunder’s depth to push them into a convincing win after a disappointing loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #6 Preview: LA Clippers

OKC now turns their focus to the LA Clippers where they will play their second road game in as many nights. The Clippers are still without Kawhi Leonard, and while they have competed admirably with James Harden running the show, they’re just 2-3 so far. Oklahoma City is a much deeper squad, and regardless of it being the second game of a back-to-back, the Thunder should be able to maintain enough energy to move to 6-0 for just the second time in franchise history.
