Why the Thunder Will Cover (-7.5)

While OKC is not quite fully healthy, they take a good step forward tonight with Chet Holmgren and Alex Caruso both available. That alone gives them even more of an edge over the Celtics, who have some question marks on their injury report. Regardless of who Boston plays, OKC is getting SOMETHING from multiple SOMEONES pretty much every night. I think the Thunder elevates tonight in front of a national audience in a big game in which Shai Gilgeous-Alexander should break Wilt Chamberlain’s record of consecutive games with 20+ points. I like OKC to cover.

Why the Game Will Hit the Over (217.5)

When the top two teams in the league in points allowed go head-to-head, the point total tends toward the lower side, but I’m not buying it. Both teams take really good care of the ball, so that will limit transition and quick-scoring opportunities, but I’m just not convinced that this game won’t have scoring outbursts. I like the over, even if it just barely covers late.
