Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Faces Tough Cover at Home in SEGABABA Against Soaring Rockets

I took the Thunder to cover at -5.5 last night after the win over the Pelicans in New Orleans, and the line has already moved quite a bit in OKC’s direction. I still feel pretty good about the cover, despite the fact that they had to travel back to OKC last night only to play again tonight. Houston is coming off a day of rest, but they’re missing Alperen Sengun, who has been particularly bothersome to the Thunder. Still, the Rockets have won 9 in a row and 11 of their last 13, and they’re just one game back of the Golden State Warriors from the play-in. Regardless, I’m taking OKC to take care of business at home and cover the spread, even if it’s not by much.

Thunder Against the Spread | Not Sure OKC Covers At Home Against Houston

I feel extremely confident in saying that OKC will win this game, but it has a perfect recipe for being unnecessarily close. The Thunder destroyed the Rockets less than two weeks ago, this is the final game before the break, and OKC is a double-digit favorite. While the Thunder should blow out the Rockets for the second time this month, I’m thinking Houston manages to keep within arm’s reach before OKC hits a few free throws at the end to win by 8 or 9 points. Despite the Thunder being the best in the league at covering the spread, I’m going to give Houston the cover tonight.

OKC Thunder | Game #57 Preview: Houston Rockets

The Oklahoma City Thunder continues to stay in within arm’s reach of a playoff spot, and as they hover close to .500 on the season, they can get a little bit closer on Wednesday night as they play their final game before heading into the NBA All-Star Break. For the second time in less than two weeks, the Thunder will host the Houston Rockets, who hold claim to the worst record in the NBA standings right now.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Favored On the Road Against Rockets

OKC is obviously the better team in this matchup, and that’s under normal circumstances. The Thunder is still without Luguentz Dort, but the Rockets are missing two starters in Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr., so I think Houston will struggle to score in the backcourt. I wouldn’t be surprised if OKC turned this into a blowout, but really, they just need to take care of business and cover the spread.

Thunder Against the Spread | Wait, OKC is Favored ON THE ROAD?

It’s no secret that the Rockets are the worst team in the league, and because of that alone, the Thunder should be able to cover a measly 2-point spread. Both of these teams are coming off a game last night, but the Rockets have the benefit of being at home. Meanwhile, the Thunder have to travel for tonight’s matchup. Still, OKC is the better team, so they should win this one.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #20 Preview: Houston Rockets

Tonight the Thunder plays in the second game of a back-to-back as they travel to Houston to take on the Rockets, who are also coming off a Friday night win, a 128-122 victory over the visiting Atlanta Hawks, and just the fourth win of the season for Houston. The Rockets are similar to the Thunder in that they are also in rebuilding mode, but unfortunately for Houston, they don’t really have an establish leader like OKC does in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. On top of that, the Rockets are dealing with a number of injuries.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #14: Houston Rockets

Since winning four straight games, the Oklahoma City Thunder has now lost two in a row, but they very well could pick up a win tonight as they host the Houston Rockets. The Rockets are just 1-13 on the season with their lone victory coming against the Thunder when the two met earleir this season.

OKC Thunder | Game #2 Preview: Houston Rockets

The Thunder and the Rockets will do plenty of battle this season as they both fight for the bottom spot in the standings with hopes of gaining a better draft pick next summer. Still, that doesn’t mean this matchup can’t be an exciting one. With two top-6 draft picks going against one another, there’s bound to be some highlights here and there, and it will be interesting to see who wants to win this one (lose this one?) more.
