Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Given Slight Edge Over Injured Suns

The Suns have defeated the Thunder twice in the last month, winning by 31 just a 11 days ago. Things should go differently today, though, as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is in the lineup for OKC, and the Suns are missing both Kevin Durant and DeAndre Ayton. Luguentz Dort will have a tough cover trying to slow down Devin Booker, who torched the Thunder for 44 points on March 8th, but Phoenix will have their hands full trying to slow down SGA. I like OKC to win at home in this one.

OKC Thunder | Game #71 Preview: Phoenix Suns

The Oklahoma City Thunder suffered a tough 128-111 loss in Toronto against the Raptors on Thursday, but over the last couple of days, the Thunder has actually managed to move up to T-8th in the Western Conference standings due to other team’s losing. OKC can improve their placement again on Sunday afternoon as they play host to the Phoenix Suns.

OKC Thunder | Game #69 Preview: Brooklyn Nets

Just a couple of weeks ago, it looked like the Oklahoma City Thunder might be ready to tank. Losers of 5 straight out of the All-Star Break, playoff chances were dwindling. Since then, OKC has won 5 of the last 6 and is currently tied for 9th place in the West with a 33-35 record. They have a chance to inch a little higher up the standings Tuesday night as they host the Brooklyn Nets.

Thunder Against the Spread | Suns Heavily Favored Over Thunder in Phoenix

With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams out, the Thunder is severely lacking playmaking ability on both ends of the floor. Still, this is a giant spread, and OKC has plenty of guys that can hit shots. If Isaiah Joe gets hot, or even a more unlikely player like Josh Giddey or Luguentz Dort, then they could definitely keep this a single-digit game. I’m taking the Thunder to cover, even if it is barely.

OKC Thunder | Game #60 Preview: Phoenix Suns

OKC continues their short two-game road trip on Friday night as they take on the Phoenix Suns in the second game of a back-to-back. The Suns are 32-28 and currently sit at 5th in the West, but their placement in the standings is expected to change perhaps sooner than later due to a blockbuster trade that was made bringing Kevin Durant to Phoenix. Durant is set to make his debut in a couple of days as he finishes up his recovery from a sprained MCL in his right knee.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Could Cover Against Nets with Durant Sidelined

The Nets are one of the best teams in the league, but with Kevin Durant now missing from the lineup for quite some with a sprained MCL in his right knee, the wins probably won’t come as easily. Still, Brooklyn has plenty of talent, and the Thunder has their work cut out for them wrapping up a 4-game road trip against one of the Eastern Conference’s best. OKC has been rolling, though, and with that in mind, this should make for a close one.

OKC Thunder | Game 44: Brooklyn Nets

The Oklahoma City Thunder is ROLLING right now, winning 4 of their last 5, and looking good while they do it. All four wins have been by double digits, and the lone loss was a single-digit decision against the Miami Heat. The Thunder wraps up a 4-game road trip tonight as they take on the Brooklyn Nets.

Thunder Against the Spread | Take the Thunder as Road Dogs

Kyrie Irving is back, but he can’t play at home. Kevin Durant and Patty Mills are out for rest. James Harden is playing, but he’s not exactly been healthy this season. All of these are reasons that I think the Thunder will keep this one close, and you never know…they might even get their first win of 2022.

Thunder Against The Spread | Does The Streak End With The Nets?

Oklahoma City is riding the hot hand of a 4-game winning streak and they’re playing at home where they’re averaging 105.6 points per game. The Nets are 3-4 against the spread when playing on the road this season and the Thunder are a strong 4-1 against the spread at home. When playing after a day off OKC is beating the spread 60% of the time. Meanwhile, Brooklyn is only covering 45% of the time following a day off. The Nets very easily could end Oklahoma City’s winning streak tonight but I’m a big fan of the Thunder and those points.
