Thunder Against The Spread | Sticking With The Under Against Houston

There are a couple of things outside of the season trends that need to be considered here. First, this game has some draft pick implications and it’s pretty important that OKC win it. For that reason, I expect the Thunder to have a shorter bench this afternoon. Secondly, Houston is bad…just really bad. The Rockets haven’t won a game since February 4th and are riding a franchise record 19-game losing streak.

OKC Thunder | Game #20 Preview: Rockets

It’s only been two days, but here we are again: Thunder vs. Rockets at Chesapeake Energy Arena. The first matchup didn’t go so well for the good guys as Houston was hot from three from the get go. A 48-24 first quarter jump paced the Rockets to a 136-106 blowout over the Thunder, but OKC has a chance at redemption after just one day off.

OKC Thunder | Game #3 Preview: Magic

Tonight, the Thunder hosts the Magic, who are one of the league’s few remaining undefeated teams at 3-0. The Magic have been a bit of a surprise so far, mostly because they do not have a true superstar. Nikola Vučević was an All-Star in 2019, but aside from that, they’re just a really solid team.

OKC Thunder | Round 1, Game 6 Preview: Houston Rockets

The Oklahoma City Thunder dug themselves a hole in the third quarter of Game 5 against the Houston Rockets, and once Dennis Schröder was ejected alongside Houston’s P.J. Tucker, there was no way they were going to dig themselves out. Now OKC is facing elimination in Game 6.

OKC Thunder | Round 1, Game 5 Preview: Houston Rockets

Russell Westbrook remains sidelined for Game 5 with an injured right quad, and with the series all tied up, this could very well be the most important game played so far. According to NBA Playoff history, when a series is tied at 2-2, the winner of Game 5 goes on to win the series 82.2% (171 of 208 series) of the time. The numbers are a little closer if you look at the last 2 seasons, with the Game 5 winner of a series tied at 2-2 going on to win the series 7 of 10 times.

OKC Thunder | Round 1, Game 4 Preview: Houston Rockets

The Oklahoma City Thunder managed to pull out a 119-107 decision in overtime against the Houston Rockets in Game 3 on Saturday evening, but they cannot spend any time celebrating. The Thunder still trails the Rockets 1-2 in the series, and while they did make some improvements in Game 3, there are still plenty of adjustments to be made.

OKC Thunder | Round 1, Game 3 Preview: Houston Rockets

The Oklahoma City Thunder has dug an 0-2 hole in the series, and Game 3 is essentially a must win. If the Thunder wants to have any chance at coming back to win the series, their adjustments for Game 3 are going to be the key.

OKC Thunder | Round 1, Game 2 Preview: Houston Rockets

The Oklahoma City Thunder got off to a rough start in Game 1 of the first round of the Western Conference Playoffs against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday. The Rockets came out unloading from downtown while the Thunder tried playing a different brand of basketball than they had all season long.
