Oklahoma’s Jake Irvin Named Second-Team All-American

Oklahoma junior pitcher Jake Irvin leads the Big 12, and ranks 31st nationally, with 103 strikeouts this season. He sports a 2.85 ERA and was named as a first-team All-Big 12 selection last week. This week his list of post season honor grew with the announcement that Collegiate Baseball Newspaper named him as a second-team All American.

For the second time this season, Oklahoma pitcher Jake Irvin has been honored by the Big 12 Conference. After throwing six-scoreless innings in OU’s 12-0 win Friday night, in the series opener, Irvin was instrumental in setting the Sooners up for their fifth shutout win of the season.
