After a few weeks of frustration, Friday Locks finally swung a little momentum back in the right direction. We went 7–5 collectively in Week 8,…

Friday Locks Week 3: Can We Bounce Back From Our Worst Week Yet?
Ouch. After going just 3-7-2 in Week 2, we’re staring at a losing record as a group (16-18-2), and it’s a harsh reminder that picking…

After starting five games into the season, Oklahoma State showed no signs of dropping six of their next eight games, but that’s exactly what happened. Fingers can be pointed, and blame should be shared across the board for the most part, but perhaps all of the problems from the season can be summarized into one simple sentence: the Cowboys can’t handle pressure.

The Oklahoma State Cowboy football season did not wrap up in a way that really anyone saw coming. After a 5-0 start, the Cowboys lost 5 of their last 7 games to finish the season 7-5. Injuries, inexperience, coaching…there are plenty of areas where you can point the finger of blame, but none of that matters now as Oklahoma State gears up to take on the Wisconsin Badgers in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.

“I don’t see Michigan State walking away with the win here, but I do think they keep it close.”

After dropping their first game of the season last week the Hawkeyes find themselves as 3.5-point underdogs against a three-loss Wisconsin team. I’m thinking that this is a huge overreaction and this game could just be free money waiting to be claimed.

This kind of looks like a lopsided affair to me. The Cougars are 4-0 for the second season in a row and looking to make some waves in the College Football Playoff conversation. Fresh off a 35-27 win over South Florida last weekend, BYU is humming on the offensive side of the ball. Meanwhile, Utah State had a dose of reality last weekend when the Aggies took it on the chin in a 27-3 loss to Boise State. The Aggies are looking for a rebound game but if they struggled with Boise I don’t see how they can keep up with BYU.

I’m a firm believer in the Georgia defense, just not so much in the offense yet. Not that Vanderbilt is going to have the ability to stop the Bulldogs though. I see some long, sustained drivers, from JT Daniels and company. I’m just not sure they will score at the type of pace required to cover a spread that’s greater than five touchdowns.

Coastal Carolina is 2-0 against Kansas over the last two years and those games were played in Lawrence. This will probably be the easiest contest of the three for the Chanticleers and while most people immediately think of quarterback Grayson McCall when Coastal Carolina is mentioned, I actually think it’s Jeffrey Gunter and the defense that’ll be in for a big night.

Follow the logic here. Last week the Chanticleers held a BYU team that averages 42.1 points per game to only 17 points. This week they get a Troy team that is averaging 25.8 points per game. I like CCU by multiple touchdowns here.
