Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #72 Preview: Sacramento Kings

The Oklahoma City Thunder survived a close decision in LA against the Clippers on Sunday night, and now they wrap up a brief West Coast trip with a duel against the Kings in Sacramento.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Wraps Up West Coast Trip as a Double-Digit Favorite Over Kings in Sacramento

The Thunder locked up the top spot in the West last week, and Sacramento is fighting desperately for some footing in the Western Conference standings. Still, OKC has mostly played well lately, regardless of who is in and who is out. Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams are both questionable tonight, and though the Kings could use a win, I don’t see it happening. I expect Shai Gilgeous-Alexander to have a solid bounce-back game with OKC winning by double digits.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC a Double-Digit Favorite in Windy City

I managed to lock in the Bulls at +10.5, but either way, I think Chicago keeps this to a single-digit spread. OKC is clearly the better team in the matchup, but the Bulls defeated the Bucks by double digits just last night. Still, the Thunder have fresh legs, while Chicago is playing in the second game of a back-to-back. Take it all into consideration, and I anticipate a game that will likely hover around the spread until closing a little closer in the final minutes.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Opens as Road Dog in Chicago

OKC enters the 2023-24 campaign with a lot of expectations, far more so than the last few seasons, and with good reason. The Thunder is likely the underdog because they are playing on the road, but Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is the best player in this game, and OKC has more depth than Chicago from top to bottom. I see the Thunder starting off the season 1-0 with a solid win on the road.

Thunder Against the Spread | Take OKC as a Slight Underdog in Chicago

Playing in the second game of a back-to-back on the road is tough, especially when you play full minutes. OKC is doing just that, and despite a hefty win over the Sixers in Philadelphia last night, the Thunder’s main guys played their typical minutes, so they might be a little tired tonight. Still, Chicago is playing without DeMar DeRozan and perhaps Zach Lavine. Either way, unless OKC has a surprise and decides to rest Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, I think there’s a good shot the Thunder keeps rolling and grabs another win on the road.

OKC Thunder | Game #43 Preview: Chicago Bulls

Tonight the Thunder continues their road trip as they take on the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls are just 19-23 on the season—same as the Thunder—and they have lost two in a row. The Bulls have won 4 of their last 5 in Chicago, but they are missing DeMar DeRozan. OKC is also playing in the second game of a back-to-back, so both teams have certain odds stacked against them. In the end, this should make for a quality Friday night matchup.

Oklahoma City Thunder | Game #19 Preview: Chicago Bulls

Friday night is the Thunder’s third opportunity in five days to get a win in front of the home crowd, and it should make for a fun challenge as they host the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls have not capitalized on their success from last season, but they are hot off two wins against the East’s top teams in the Celtics and the Bucks. OKC will have to bring their best performance to try to put an end to Chicago’s miniature win streak.

Thunder Against The Spread | Picking The Thunder & The Over

Both teams have a similar overall winning percentage against the spread this season but Oklahoma City is a much stronger road team than Chicago is a home team. The Bulls are just 8-12-1 against the spread at home this season and the Thunder are 13-6 against the spread on the road.

OKC Thunder | Game #40 Preview: Bulls

Tonight, the Thunder takes on the Chicago Bulls in the first game of a 4-game road trip. The Bulls are just 17-20 on the season, but at 9th in the Eastern Conference standings, they are in position to make a push for the playoffs. OKC is short-handed once again, but like we tend to say pretty much every night around here, don’t count the Thunder out, especially with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on the floor.

After trailing by as many as 22 in the third quarter, it looked like the losing streak would continue, but Luguentz Dort and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had other plans.
