Thunder Against The Spread | The Over Looks Inviting

There’s the possibility that I’m simplifying this too much but the Lakers have hit the over in three of their four games this season. It’s partly because of the offensive firepower that this team has but also due to the lack of defense they play which allows teams to stay close throughout the contest. The Thunder are next to last in the NBA when it comes to scoring but they’ll get just enough done tonight to make this game hit the over.

Two To Tango | Westbrook And Mirotic Will Set The Pace In OKC Tonight

Russ enters tonight’s game averaging 25.3 points, 8.8 assists, and 8.5 rebounds per game. He has scored a season-high 32 points on two occasions this season. He did it in his debut against Sacramento on October 21st and again against the Clippers on October 30th. I’m going to go ahead and predict that tonight will be a new season high in scoring for the reigning Western Conference Player of the Week.

Redemptive Opportunity Awaits Thunder In OKC Tonight

The assumption was that things would get better for OKC when they came home. Russell Westbrook was back, and with the home crowd supporting them, this team would get back on track. Back-to-Back losses to Sacramento and Boston proved that to be a myth and suddenly the franchise was in uncharted territory at an 0-4 start.

Russell Westbrook To Sit Out Second Consecutive Game

It’s the second game in a row that Westbrook has missed to start the season, which also means that Dennis Schröder will be making his second consecutive start as OKC’s point guard. In Tuesday’s opener, against Golden State, Schröder was a rebound shy of a double-double. The former Atlanta Hawk finished with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, two steals, and a block.

For OKC Season Opener Is About The Future And Not The Present

Neither of these teams are going to look the same when late January rolls around, and they certainly won’t be the same when spring brings about the home stretch of the season and jockeying for playoff seeding. The Warriors are anxiously awaiting the return of DeMarcus Cousins and Oklahoma City is looking forward to the day when Westbrook and Robinson return to the floor together.
