After a run of six straight games against teams currently in a playoff position or a play-in scenario, the Oklahoma City Thunder should feel a lightening of the load on Wednesday as they take on the Brooklyn Nets. The Thunder kicked off a 5-game East Coast road trip Tuesday night with a 113-108 victory in Orlando against the Magic, and after this second game of a back-to-back, OKC has just one more back-to-back remaining in the season.

Thunder Against the Spread | OKC Heads Into Brooklyn As Monster Favorite Over Nets
OKC has seen a spread in the 18-21 points range just three times this season without covering once. I think this could finally be their time to do so, though, as Brooklyn appears to be entirely disinterested in winning. The Nets have lost by 20 points in 14 of their 51 losses. Overall, 1 out of every 5 games they play ends in a loss of 20 points or greater. The Thunder is deep enough that, regardless of who plays major minutes, this one should end in a blowout win.

The Oklahoma City Thunder’s struggles continue, but the same cannot be said for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. In his three games since returning from a sprained ankle, Shai has averaged 35 points per game while shooting 61.2% from the floor. With the laundry list of injuries that the Thunder is currently dealing with, it just makes sense that SGA would step up and do what is necessary to keep OKC competitive. The Thunder will need another explosive game from Shai tonight as they travel to Colorado to take on the Denver Nuggets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder found redemption on Monday when they defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 102-99 just a couple of weeks after a historic 73-point loss to them. With that win, the Thunder has consecutive victories for just the third time this season. Tonight, the Thunder hosts the Denver Nuggets, who have had their own issues with stringing wins together.

Tonight, the Thunder hosts the first of a back-to-back matchup with the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets are also winless during the preseason at 0-3, but each loss has been by a single possession, by just a combined 5 points. I wouldn’t hope for a win from Oklahoma City tonight or tomorrow when the teams meet again at the BOK Center in Tulsa, but one thing we can always hope for is some highlights from the young guys.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (41-24) got off to a fantastic start in the bubble as they dominated the Utah Jazz (42-24) from start to finish on Saturday afternoon, resulting in a 110-94 victory. Monday’s matchup could be a similar outcome.

Tonight, the Thunder is on the road as they take on the Denver Nuggets, a division rival that they have lost to twice already this season. The Nuggets are 3 games ahead of OKC in the Western Conference standings, and trailing 0-2 in head-to-head matchups, this game could very well be the most important one of the Thunder’s regular season.

You’ll be hard pressed to find a team that works harder under the basket than Oklahoma City. The Thunder scored 56 points in the paint against the Bulls and 48 against the Pelicans, while also grabbing a total of 110 rebounds between the two games.
